Our School

Lenamore National School is a co-educational Catholic primary school which has a long established tradition in providing an excellent quality of education for all pupils in our care. Our school is multi-parochial with children attending from Lenamore and the local parishes of Ballylongford, Moyvane and Listowel.In our school, we aim to combine the best of traditional values with the very latest teaching methods and technologies. We endeavour to provide our pupils with a broad range of very stimulating and exciting learning experiences.We recognise the uniqueness and dignity of each person and strive to help each student to achieve his/her full potential. We are committed to providing a holistic education and we work to foster an atmosphere of openness and enquiry and encourage our pupils to become knowledgeable, questioning and reflective.

We are proud to have a dedicated and supportive Board of Management and Parents Association in our school. We actively encourage parental involvement in school life as we believe that education is a process of partnership between parents and school and that good communication and mutual trust are what makes this partnership work well.

Scoil Náisiúnta Léana Mhóir offers a unique learning experience. We pride ourselves with an active learning environment, assured individual attention and an exciting range of extra-curricular experiences. Development of the children’s confidence and citizenship is of paramount importance, as is being challenged academically to their full potential. We strive for excellence in Gaeilge, English and Mathematics. A family atmosphere in the classroom leads to greater levels of happiness and productivity.

A wide range of activities.

Pupils partake in a wide range of activities which nurture and promote a well- rounded education: Green Schools, Health Promoting School, Incredible Edibles, Blast, Creative Clusters, Discover Primary Science, Field trips and Junior Entrepreneur. Our dedicated staff provide and promote various creative interests in the following areas:
